At the core of the Explorer is a standard 3.5L TiVCT V6 engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission, giving the Explorer a highway fuel rating of 24 mpg. Select models are available with a highly fuel-efficient 2.0L Ecoboost engine, granting the Explorer an amazing 28mpg highway fuel rating.
As for features, the Explorer comes with some of today's best options. The available Terrain Management System allows you to easily switch between driving modes, adapting the drivetrain to handle anything from smooth roads, to slippery mud, to snow and gravel. Ford's SYNC system is also available, giving you access to navigation information, music streaming, and more.
