Imagine going to work at a place that looks more like a high-end university campus than it does an office. There are green spaces, trees, gardens, and community pathways with colleagues happily biking to and fro different buildings.
Inside, big windows oriented to the sun let in natural daylight.
It feels good to work in this place, and because you are so happy, you are more creative and more productive on the job. That's what Ford President and CEO Mark Fields is hoping for, anyway.
He says, "As we transition to an auto and a mobility company, we’re investing in our people and the tools they use to deliver our vision. Bringing our teams together in an open, collaborative environment will make our employees’ lives better, speed decision-making and deliver results for both our core and emerging businesses."
Since taking his position in 2014, Fields has been leading Ford in a direction of innovation, including electric vehicles, autonomous vehicles, in-car technology, and mobility options, like car-sharing services.
